Housing policy must include renters

Homeownership dominates political rhetoric, but renters are nearly forty percent of households. They face rising rents, weak eviction protections, and limited pathways to stability.

YIMBY without tenant safeguards can accelerate displacement. We need legal aid, habitability enforcement, and incentives for landlords who accept housing vouchers without discrimination.

A housing agenda that ignores renters is incomplete by definition.
